Job Description

Under limited supervision, conducts in-process and finished product testing to determine adherence to established specifications of quality and purity.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct laboratory tests and analyze data for a variety of purposes, such as production, pollution control, quality control, and minor research.
  • Test and analyze products, such as flour, to determine if the product meets plant specifications prior to release.
  • Release in-spec vessels and report out-of-spec vessels.
  • Test and analyze production samples and report uncharacteristic results.
  • Document results of tests, readings, etc. in logbooks and in TLC (Total Lab Client).
  • Complete certificates of analysis.
  • Prepare chemical solutions for use in the lab.
  • Maintain and calibrate all lab equipment and related field instrumentation.
  • Maintain awareness and adhere to all FDA, GMP, TTB, USP, EPA, OSHA, and employer standards and guidelines.
  • Support and comply with all food safety, quality, and legality requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • 2 or 4-year science degree is preferred; a high school diploma or GED is required.
  • 2 plus years of work experience in a quality assurance lab preferred.
  • Open to entry-level candidates with a Bachelor's Degree (or Associate's) in Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
Work Environment

Great team culture with a small, tight-knit group of 5-10 lab technicians. There is an opportunity for permanent placement and pay advancement once brought on as permanent. Shifts are set but offer flexibility with swapping or picking up hours if you need a day off. This position is open due to one contractor being converted to permanent and another being out for an extended period. If not filled, it could eventually cause a slowdown or backlog in testing, delaying product release.
