Position: Special Education Teacher
Location:York, SC
Duration: Full Time for 2024/2025 school year
Caseload:High School, Will be discussed during interview; additionalpositions available at the alternative school.

*New IEP Program (all will be trained) EdPlanSC (PCG)*

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Tailor instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Employ varied instructional techniques and technologies to engage students.
  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, and specialists.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians about student progress and goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field (Masters preferred).
  • Valid South CarolinaSpecial Education Teaching License or eligibility.
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs.
  • Proficient in IEP development and implementation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • AU/Behavior experience preferred
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive equipment.
  • Knowledge of behavior management techniques and positive behavior supports.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
