Job Overview
The client is a personal injury law firm that specializes in pursuing auto insurance personal injury protection (PIP) benefits for medical providers who treat patients injured in motor vehicle accidents. The Litigation Attorney (Personal injury protection, PIP)
Responsibilities
• Manage and oversee an existing caseload of PIP cases, including conducting depositions, preparing and responding to discovery requests, drafting pleadings, motions and legal documents, and preparing for trial.
• Oversee a team of six legal assistants and paralegals.
• Represent clients in court, including conducting trials and arguing motions.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis.
• Negotiate settlements with opposing insurance adjusters and counsel.
• Stay up-to-date on legal developments and trends in the area of PIP law.
Requirements and Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the bar of Massachusetts and in good standing.
Minimum of two years proven experience in litigation with a focus on personal injury law. Specific litigation experience with PIP cases highly desirable.
Strong track record of success in personal injury litigation, including trial experience.
Strong skills in legal drafting and research methodologies.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Familiarity with legal administrative tasks within a law office environment including use of case management software, Microsoft Office and Adobe
