Heavy Equipment Mechanic Role Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As the lead mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting, servicing, and maintaining our heavy-duty construction equipment fleet. From diagnosing faults to conducting repairs and providing routine maintenance, your expertise will ensure the optimal performance and longevity of our machinery. Heavy Equipment Mechanic Role Responsibilities:

  • Drive to job sites promptly and safely.
  • Inspect trucks, cranes, bulldozers, and other heavy equipment for proper performance and safety compliance.
  • Utilize computerized testing equipment to diagnose faults accurately.
  • Adjust equipment settings and replace faulty parts as needed.
  • Perform repairs on damaged equipment components with precision and efficiency.
  • Conduct routine cleaning, lubrication, and servicing of heavy-duty vehicles to extend their lifespan.
  • Service machine attachments such as winches, blades, and side booms to ensure functionality.
  • Undertake major repair work when necessary, adhering to safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other mechanics to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Report any damaged or faulty equipment to management for timely action.


Heavy Equipment Mechanic Role Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience with heavy equipment and diesel mechanics or hydraulics.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Clean driving record.
  • CDLA and heavy equipment mechanic certification preferred.
  • Certified Diesel Mechanic, Certified Welder, Brake Repair Certified a plus.
  • Proficiency in utilizing computer testing technologies for diagnostic purposes.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver heavy machinery safely.
  • Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment mechanics.
  • Willingness to work after-hours when required to address emergencies or urgent repairs.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and management.
