Job Description:

ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2024/2025 fiscal year. As a School Special Education Teacher, you will provide individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. This role requires expertise in creating and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) and collaborating with students, families, and educational staff to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in various settings, including inclusive classrooms, resource rooms, and specialized programs.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop and implement effective support strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress through data collection and analysis.
  • Provide individual and group support to students to address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities.
  • Conduct assessments to determine students' strengths, needs, and eligibility for special education services.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, interventions, and services provided.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines related to special education.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Colorado teaching license in Special Education.
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing special education services in a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and team members.
  • Proficiency in data collection and analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
  • Commitment to maintaining professional development and staying current with industry trends.
