Position: Special Education Teacher (Self-Contained Classroom)
Location:Society Hill, SC
Duration: January - End of School Year
Certification Required: South Carolina Special Education Certification
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team for a self-contained classroom serving students with intellectual disabilities in grades 3-5. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of our students and help them thrive academically and socially.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students needs.
- Create a nurturing and supportive classroom environment that fosters learning and growth.
- Collaborate with parents, staff, and specialists to ensure a holistic approach to each students education.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to acmodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students and families.
- Maintain a positive classroom culture that encourages student engagement and participation.
Qualifications:
- Valid South Carolina Special Education Certification.
- Experience working with students with intellectual disabilities preferred.
- Strong munication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
