We're looking for experienced Quality Control Inspectors who thrive in manufacturing environments and have a strong background in mechanical inspections.

Job Title: Quality Inspector II
Location: Hayward, CA
Type: Contract to Hire
Shift: 1st shift (Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM)
Pay Rate: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform mechanical inspections on raw materials, components, assemblies, and manufactured parts.
  • Conduct First Article, receiving, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Measure and inspect complex components and assemblies with precision tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, manual CMMs).
  • Generate and review inspection and non-conformance reports.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, blueprints, and technical specifications to complete thorough inspections.
  • Audit Quality Control programs for compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Provide cross-departmental support and work with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to resolve quality-related issues.
  • Train and mentor Level 1 inspectors in inspection techniques.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with company and industry standards.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience in quality inspection in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Experience with CMM operation and programming edits.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, BOMs, and technical documents.
  • Strong skills in mechanical measurement techniques (e.g., sheet metal, secondary processes like paint, powder coating).
  • Familiarity with MS Office and database software for documentation and reporting.
  • Cleanroom experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of NPI (New Product Introduction) and process improvements is a bonus.
  • ASQ certification is preferred but not required.

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Technician coursework or AA degree is preferred.
