Our client, an Employment Practice Group, has an opportunity for a Mid-level Attorney to join their team. This position will be involved in all aspects of employment litigation and advice and counsel matters.

Annual minimum billable hours requirement is 1610, with the opportunity to earn a bonus for hours worked in excess of the minimum.

Knowledge, Skills, and Educational Requirements

  • JD from Accredited Law School

  • Must be admitted and a member in good standing of the California Bar

  • Should possess at least 5+ years of employment litigation experience; Class Action and PAGA experience, preferred

  • Strong command of Federal and California state labor and employment laws

  • Prior experience taking and defending depositions and arguing motions in court

  • Outstanding research and analytical skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • A self-starter with the ability to manage cases from start to finish

  • Ability to set a course of action and direct the work of associate attorneys and paralegals, when needed

  • Ability to think strategically and creatively while providing practical counsel to clients

  • Ability to work in hybrid work schedule of 2 days in the office

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Represent employers in court, arbitrations, before administrative agencies and at mediations on class/collective actions, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour matters

  • Defend clients in PAGA matters

  • Draft and respond to pleadings and discovery

  • Draft and argue motions

  • Ability to take and defend depositions

  • Provide employment counseling on federal and state employment laws, when needed

Location: Oakland, CA, 94612

Position: Full Time

Work Schedule: Hybrid (2 days in office) after 90 days of employment

Start: ASAP

Salary: 160-190k

Benefits: If attorneys meet 1610 or exceed there is an hours bonus; we are offer health benefits, 401k, profit sharing contribution 3 weeks' vacation, an EAP. Benefits are effective the month following date of hire; profit sharing contribution is after 1 year of employment.
