We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Inpatient Pharmacist to join an Anchorage area Regional Medical Center for a 13-week interim assignment in the unique and beautiful Alaska. Qualified candidates shoudl have a minimum of 2 years' recent inpatient hospital work experience, as a post-graduate. The Details:

  • Duration: 3 months
  • Location: Travel from Anchorage, Alaska
  • Pharmacy License: Any good standing license accepted (Alaska license not required)

Key Duties:

  • Provide clinical services including retail dispensing, inpatient care with on-call, ambulatory care, and vaccinations.
  • Engage in long-term care consulting, mediset program, anticoagulation program, and more.
  • Verify physician orders, prescriptions, calculate dosages, troubleshoot insurance, and dispense/administer medications.
  • Perform IV pounding and manage drug expirations.
  • Outpatient and inpatient experience required or a strong background in one area.
  • On-call and weekend hours are part of the position.

Variable Schedule

  • Outpatient/Retail Services: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
  • Inpatient Services: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
  • Weekend Shift (Saturday): 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, focused on outpatient/retail services, inpatient discharges, refilling Pyxis, and IV pounding.
  • Sunday: 1 to 2 hours for Pyxis refills, inpatient discharges, and IV pounding as needed.

Housing and Transportation
-Housing is provided by Soliant and is located 3 to 15 minutes walking distance from the hospital.
-All housing units are fully equipped with necessities like linens, towels, and kitchen appliances.
-Transportation is provided. You will be flown in, and the pharmacy director will pick you up from the airport.
