Position Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated School Social Worker to join our team in Denver, CO. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with students in a diverse and supportive educational environment. As a School Social Worker, you will provide social, emotional, and behavioral support to students, collaborate with teachers, staff, and families, and create a positive school climate where all students can thrive academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
- Provide crisis intervention and conflict resolution for students in need.
- Assess students' needs and develop personalized intervention plans to support academic and emotional success.
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and munity resources to provide prehensive support for students and families.
- Monitor and track students progress, adjusting interventions as needed to ensure student success.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to support students with special needs and to implement behavior management strategies.
- Educate students, staff, and parents on mental health topics, coping strategies, and conflict resolution.
- Serve as a resource for families seeking munity services and support.
- Promote a positive school climate and foster inclusivity for all students.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
- Valid Colorado School Social Worker License or eligibility for licensure.
- Experience working with children, particularly in an educational or clinical setting, is preferred.
- Knowledge of child development, mental health issues, and social service systems.
- Strong interpersonal and munication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a school environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy.
- Crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus, but not required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of Special Education services and processes.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed practices and restorative justice principles.
- Ability to provide outreach to families in a culturally petent manner.
