Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical systems and equipment, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
  • Perform effective troubleshooting to identify malfunctions and repair as necessary.
  • Utilize system drawings and diagrams to troubleshoot mechanical systems, equipment, and components.
  • Fabricate parts and make modifications using mill surface grinder, lathe, band saw, welder, and other hand tools.
  • Perform maintenance of mechanical drives, including lubrication, aligning shafts, backlash adjustment, changing bearings, chains, and other mechanical parts.
  • Troubleshoot and test valves, cylinders, and solenoids on hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Install, fabricate, and maintain plumbing systems including piping, filters, valves, and connections.
  • Prevent breakdown of mechanical systems through routine inspection and repair.
  • Provide input and generate plans for plant shutdown and startup.
  • Test and repair mechanical systems utilized by production equipment to ensure adherence to established performance levels and product quality.
  • Provide input and execute plans for the installation of new equipment and other plant upgrades.
  • Document and record modifications of new installs.
  • Identify, select, and order parts for repairs, preventative maintenance, and spare parts inventory.
  • Actively participate and support the plant Process Safety Management program.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
  • Ability to read and understand fabrication and assembly drawings.
  • Strong working knowledge of compressors, evaporators, condensers, and piping on HVAC systems.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting aptitude and ability.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Good industrial safety record.
  • Ability to work off hours and overtime as needed with short or no advance notice.
  • Capable of determining red line changes and sketching drawings from novice description and fabricating.

Shift: Will rotate as a group of 3 Maintenance Mechanics. 1 Month will be 7 AM - 3:30 PM (5 - hour shifts, but will be required to be on call during that month), the other two months will be on a rotation of 12 hour shifts (2 on 2 off, 3 on 2 off, 2 on 3 off - 36 hours one week and then 48 hours per week)

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $68640.00 - $70720.00

6 weeks of vacation at beginning of year, 3 weeks if hired in June (pro rated)
PTO-3 days, Vacation days- 10 days, sick days 7 days, Alternate days (given how holidays fall) 3 days, 10 paid holidays. Vacation time replenishes in January. 1 extra day in each bucket per year. if employee doesn't use sick days will get paid for 3 days of unused time.
