Location: Bone Gap, IL
Position: Full-Time
Grade Level: 7th Grade
Program Type: Cross-Categorical
Student Load: 15 students
Start Date: Next semester (January 2024)
Base Rate: To Be Determined

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate 7th Grade Cross-Categorical Special Education Teacher to join our team starting next semester. In this full-time position, you will work with a diverse group of 15 students with a variety of special needs, providing individualized instruction and support across academic subjects.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for each student
  • Provide direct instruction in both small group and whole class settings
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and staff to ensure inclusive education practices
  • Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment to encourage student growth and self-confidence
  • Maintain regular munication with parents and guardians regarding student progress
  • Participate in professional development and staff meetings

Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education (cross-categorical endorsement preferred)
  • Experience working with middle school students in a special education setting
  • Strong classroom management and collaboration skills
  • A passion for working with students with diverse learning needs
