Traffic Control Technician

We are currently seeking Traffic Control Technicians (TCT) to join our team and work with the Traffic Control Department at our work sites in the York, PA area. Our Traffic Control Technicians maintain a safe work zone by ensuring that traffic stays out of the way of our workers. This involves setting up and removing temporary cones, signs, variable message boards, and safety barriers that show traffic where to drive, as well as holding up signs that tell traffic to either stop or to proceed slowly. If you enjoy working outdoors and have prior construction industry experience, we welcome you to apply. What You'll Do:
- Support project as Flagger as needed to create a safe work area
- Set-up signs, cones, etc. around work areas to divert traffic
- Lead job site team and instruct / monitor and train crew members on safety and job assignments on occasion
- Complete daily paperwork accurately and timely
- Operate a 2-way radio
- Work under the Supervision of the Project Manager and the TCS
- Communicate with contractors and relate specific customer / job changes and other information to Supervisor, Project Manager, office staff, or others
- Provide the highest level of customer service to all customers
- Work efficiently in a team environment and independently when assigned
What We Need from You:
- Valid Driver’s License.
- 1-3 years of experience and 2,000 in field hours in traffic control.
- Must be able to pass a background check, including motor vehicle records check.
- Must successfully pass a drug test and meet federal DOT requirements.
- Wear proper safety equipment (work boots with safety toe, hard hat, safety glasses, and safety vest).
- Basic reading and writing ability to comply with road signs, complete paperwork, and knowledge of federal and state motor carrier safety regulations.
- Must be able to read plans and ensure traffic control plans are implemented and maintained.
- Good knowledge of state and local roadways and experience operating delivery vehicles of varying sizes.
- Ability to lift and move up to 70 pounds.
- Must successfully complete the ATSSA TCT intermediate training course.
- Willingness to travel statewide, with occasional overnight stays, and ability to work nights and weekends as required by projects.
- Must be available for a rotating on-call schedule.
