Pay Rate: 35.00-40.00

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team in Goleta, CA. The ideal candidate will have experience setting up and operating various machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders. You will be responsible for creating metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to precise tolerances and dimensions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate a variety of machine tools, including both manual and numerically controlled equipment.

• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications to determine the sequence of operations and methods of setup.

• Use machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments.

• Make standard shop computations related to dimensions, tooling, feeds, and speeds.

• Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining.

• Fit and assemble precision parts into mechanical equipment.

• Determine the required material, parts, and equipment.

• Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process control or other quality procedures.

Key Experience Required:

• Familiarity with CNC Mills and machine programming software (e.g., Mastercam, CAMworks, etc.).

• Experience with manual mills and lathes.

• Ability to read and interpret 2D drawings and work instructions (written in English).

• Strong attention to detail.

• Minimum of 3 years of machining experience.

Work Environment: This position requires 100% onsite work in Goleta, CA.

Qualifications:

• Completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience is preferred.

Pay Details: 35.00 to 40.00 per hour
