Job Description

The Energy Specialist is primarily responsible for completing walk-through energy efficiency assessments, installing energy efficiency equipment and products, and deepening customer awareness of and participation in rebate programs and the Utility’s energy efficiency program. The role involves responding to general customer inquiries regarding utility services and directing customers to the appropriate contacts at the utility company. You will be working with others who are passionate about energy efficiency and making a positive impact on the industry. Responsibilities include changing LED light bulbs, checking water flow in faucets and shower heads, and checking/installing Smart Thermostats. Occasionally, you will need to install wiring for older homes' thermostats, which includes accessing crawl spaces (10% on average in a week). You will frequently use ladders to change light bulbs and check insulation in attics.

Responsibilities
  • Complete walk-through energy efficiency assessments.
  • Install energy efficiency equipment and products.
  • Enhance customer awareness of and participation in rebate programs.
  • Respond to general customer inquiries regarding utility services.
  • Direct customers to the appropriate contact at the utility company.
  • Change LED light bulbs and check water flow in faucets and shower heads.
  • Check and install Smart Thermostats.
  • Install wiring for older homes' thermostats when necessary.
  • Access crawl spaces for wiring installations (10% on average in a week).
  • Use ladders to check insulation in attics and change light bulbs.
