We are offering a contract for a permanent position as a Payroll Specialist. The position is based in Morristown, New Jersey, 07960, United States. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for processing bi-weekly and off-cycle payrolls, providing system support, and ensuring accurate calculations of wages, tax withholdings, and company deductions.


Responsibilities:


• Manage and execute the activities of bi-weekly and off-cycle payrolls

• Provide daily support for the payroll system, including troubleshooting issues from external vendors

• Review data files for completeness and reasonableness before processing, and audit information against the payroll register

• Collaborate with HR and IT resources to resolve system rejections due to missing or incomplete data

• Respond to employee inquiries received into the Oracle ticketing system in a timely manner

• Ensure the accurate calculation of wages, tax withholding, and company deductions

• Guarantee payroll processing is accurate, compliant, and timely

• Ensure payroll is aligned with statutory reporting and filing requirements

• Analyze, calculate, review, verify, and post complex payroll data fields such as gross pay, retirement, repayments, retroactive payments, hours, and tax information

• Work with new hires to resolve self-service portal issues

• Establish and maintain garnishment and court-ordered wage cases.

• Proficiency in accounting functions is crucial for effective payroll management
• Experience in auditing, as it is essential for maintaining accuracy in payroll
• Proficiency in Oracle is required, as it is often used for payroll management
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel for managing and analyzing payroll data
• Certification in payroll to ensure adherence to best payroll practices
• Ability to process payroll accurately and efficiently
• Experience in handling payroll for over 500 employees, demonstrating the ability to manage large volumes of data
