Compounding Pharmacy Technician

The Compounding Pharmacy Technician is responsible for lab functions that may include formula and compounding record preparation, and compounding and labeling a variety of non-sterile compounded medications. All duties are performed efficiently and accurately under the general supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The Compounding Pharmacy Technician demonstrates a commitment to the mission of the Pharmacy and the goals of the Organization.
Responsibilities- Maintain a working knowledge of applicable pharmacy rules and regulations.
- Follow all policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate strong comprehension of USP 795.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of pharmacy software.
- Enter new compounds into dispensing pharmacy software.
- Prioritize and prepare formula and compound records.
- Compound medications accurately and efficiently.
- File necessary paperwork.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Pull outdated medications for destruction.
- Maintain compliance with Company and HIPAA patient confidentiality requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to: performing inventories and ordering, assisting in finding, stopping, expediting specific orders, and project work.
- 1+ year of laboratory experience
- 1+ year of pharmacy technician experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Sciences (Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, etc.)
The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The dress code requires wearing scrubs which will be provided. The role requires standing at a lab bench for the entire shift. The company offers a supportive team environment with opportunities for training and advancement. Employees get access to Pharmacy Letter, APC, and select team members can earn the PTCB Certification. Additionally, employees receive two 15-minute paid breaks and a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.50 - $22.00/hr.
