Location: UNC Health Johnston & UNC Clayton - float between both campuses

Unit/Position: 3, 12-hour shifts (36 hrs/week w/ occasional call and rotating weekends)**

  • L&D (day shift opening)
  • Mother Baby (night shift opening)

 

**Our Labor & Delivery Unit is a Level II center, which provides care to both normal and high-risk laboring and ante partum patients. Approximately 2000 babies are born each year at UNC Health Johnston. Over a thousand patients are also seen in its triage area. The unit consists of 13 labor and delivery rooms, 4 triage rooms, and 2 operating rooms across our 2 campuses Smithfield and Clayton. Anesthesia coverage is provided 24/7.

 

**Our Mother baby nurses provide care to our mother/baby dyad. Nurses assist with breastfeeding, routine post-partum care of the mom and normal newborn care. The unit consist of 25 beds across two campuses. The support person is encouraged to stay with Mom and baby to promote bonding and family centered care.

 

 

 

 Qualifications:

  • North Carolina RN License – Compact or NC State
  • BLS
  • ASN, agreement to enroll in BSN if not already enrolled or obtained
  • 1-2 years of L&D/OB/Mother/Baby experience REQUIRED

 

Pay Details:

  • $31.52, starting pay and goes up based on experience
  • Healthcare/Nursing Support experience may be considered (percentage based)
  • Pay differential for 2nd, 3rd, and weekend shifts
