We are seeking a Mechanical Drafter with proficiency in SolidWorks, CAD, and AutoCAD to join our team located in Bolingbrook, IL. In this role, you will be responsible for various aspects of mechanical design and drafting within a manufacturing environment. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.


Responsibilities:

• Utilize SolidWorks and AutoCAD for product design and drafting tasks.

• Work in a manufacturing environment, focusing on consumer goods.

• Apply knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD& T) in creating engineering drawings and 3D models.

• Contribute to the design process by applying your understanding of 2D Drawing and 3D Design.

• Maintain accurate records of design and drafting processes.

• Collaborate with other team members to ensure the consistency and quality of design and drafting tasks.

• Apply your knowledge in Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing to improve processes and outcomes.

• Utilize your skills in MFG and Backup Technologies to support manufacturing processes.

• Engage in continuous learning to stay updated with emerging technologies and practices in mechanical drafting.

• Assist in resolving inquiries related to design and drafting.

• The candidate should possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Mechanical Drafter role.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and other CAD software is essential.
• Knowledge of MFG and Backup Technologies is required.
• The applicant should have experience in Blueprint reading and interpretation.
• Strong skills in 2D Drawing and 3D Design are required.
• Familiarity with Computer Aided Design, Computer Aided Manufacturing, and Computer Aided Software Engineering is required.
• Experience in a Manufacturing Company or with Manufactured Products is a plus.
• The candidate should be able to work efficiently in a team and also independently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• The applicant should have a strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes and procedures are desired.
• The candidate should be able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• The ability to interpret technical drawings and designs is essential.
• The applicant should have the ability to create technical drawings based on given specifications and calculations.
