School-Based Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

Location: Benicia, California

Salary: Starting at $50 per hour for qualified candidates

Schedule: Full-time

Start Date: Immediate

Duration: Through the 2024/2025 School Year

Located in the beautiful city of Benicia, California, we are seeking a passionate and experienced Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. This role focuses on supporting elementary-aged students and is ideal for a candidate eager to make a meaningful impact.

Position Overview: The School-Based Speech Language Pathologist will provide direct and consultative services to elementary students with a range of speech, language, and communication needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to collaborative teamwork, a passion for helping students succeed, and the ability to work effectively in a school-based setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of students speech, language, and communication skills.

  • Interpret evaluation results and determine eligibility for services based on state and federal guidelines.

  • Individualized Education Plans (IEPs):

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to student needs.

  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with teachers, families, and staff to set goals and ensure student progress.

  • Direct Therapy Services:

  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions to elementary students.

  • Utilize evidence-based practices to address articulation, language, fluency, and social communication disorders.

  • Collaboration and Support:

  • Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and administrators to integrate therapy goals into the classroom environment.

  • Provide training and resources to staff and families to support students communication skills.

  • Documentation and Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, therapy sessions, and progress reports.

  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including IDEA and other school policies.

    Qualifications:

    • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

    • Valid California SLP license and/or certification from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).

    • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred.

    • Experience in a school-based setting is highly desirable.

    • Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience working with elementary-aged students.

    • Familiarity with IEP documentation and processes.

    • Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices and strategies.
