Job Opportunity: Full-Time School Psychologist (Contract)

Location: Thornton, Colorado

Blazer Jobs is currently conducting interviews for an experienced School Psychologist to fill a full-time contract position in Thornton, Colorado. We are seeking dedicated professionals who meet all requirements set by local and state regulations and have a strong background in supporting special education students and their families.

Requirements:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Valid license or certification as a School Psychologist in Colorado, ensuring compliance with all local and state regulations.
  • Minimum of one year of recent experience working as a School Psychologist, with a strong preference for experience in special education settings.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct comprehensive psycho-educational assessments to evaluate cognitive, academic, social, emotional, and behavioral functioning of students.
  • Interpret assessment results to identify students' strengths, weaknesses, and areas for growth, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop appropriate interventions and supports.
  • Provide individual and group counseling to students to address social, emotional, and behavioral concerns, and support their overall well-being.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement behavior intervention plans, accommodations, and modifications to support student success.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings to contribute insights and recommendations for students' educational plans.
  • Conduct functional behavior assessments and develop behavior intervention plans to address challenging behaviors and promote positive behavior change.
  • Provide consultation and training to school staff, parents, and community members on topics related to child development, mental health, and effective intervention strategies.
