Special Education Teacher (Full-Time)
Location:Melrose Park, IL
Position: Special Education Co-Teacher
Hours: 36-38 hours per week
Grades: 9th-12th

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team as a co-teacher. In this role, you will collaborate with general education teachers and other special education staff to provide tailored support for students with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) and those requiring classroom acmodations. You will work with a caseload of approximately 20 students, ensuring they receive the individualized instruction and support they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with general education and special education teachers to deliver differentiated instruction tailored to diverse learners.
- Provide support in inclusionary settings through consultation and co-teaching models.
- Monitor and track progress for students on your caseload.
- Develop and write Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with team members.
- Attend and actively participate in IEP meetings for students you serve.
- Implement effective classroom strategies to acmodate various learning styles.
- Support nearly 40% of our ELL students, with a focus on integrating Spanish language skills where applicable.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with high-functioning students with SLD.
- Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching practices.
- fortable working in a bilingual environment; proficiency in Spanish is a significant plus.
- Excellent munication and collaboration skills.
