Job Details
Superintendent applicants should be extremely detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated, and have the ability to find solutions to both routine and complex construction problems while continuing to ensure the project is moving forward. NCCO certification a huge plus.
Basic Responsibilities:
- Oversees all aspects of the field and job-site construction to ensure the project is delivered in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
- Responsible for assessing labor/management needs specific to the project and reporting to the Project Manager accordingly.
- Provide technical assistance, recommending construction methods and equipment as required, suggesting alternatives to mitigate delays and interface issues during design changes and ongoing construction.
- First Line of Communication between the Project Manager and Foremen.
- Ensure all onsite personnel complies and follows safety procedures.
- Responsible for completing daily reports.
- Ability to operate a crane as a back-up operator if need be
Qualifications:
- Earthwork experience, beach re-nourishment projects preferable.
- Experience working from a barge
- Expertise in Pile Driving and Breakwater Stone/Shoreline Protection
- Must be able to work outdoors on various terrain in a wide range of weather conditions.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws on safety and environment and their application to construction.
- Excellent communication, organizational skills, and supervisory skills.
- Preferable experience with Federal Government, including USACE.
- NCCO Certification a HUGE PLUS
