Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for our Schertz, TX location. The primary responsibility of this role is to troubleshoot automated equipment and perform daily preventative maintenance according to the CMMS schedule. The role involves a mix of 50% preventative maintenance and 50% reactive maintenance. The technician will perform calibrations and repairs to equipment in response to CMMS work requests, which include troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, fluid, and air pressured repairs, as well as electrical troubleshooting and repairs. The technician will also assist in major component replacements, provide continuous feedback to enhance predictive maintenance, participate in workshops and certifications, and ensure a safe environment by utilizing lock-out tag-out procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot automated equipment.
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance according to the CMMS schedule.
  • Conduct 50% preventative maintenance and 50% reactive maintenance.
  • Calibrate and repair equipment in response to CMMS work requests.
  • Handle mechanical, pneumatic, fluid, and air pressured repairs.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Assist in major component replacements.
  • Provide continuous feedback to enhance predictive maintenance.
  • Participate in workshops and certifications.
  • Utilize lock-out tag-out procedures to ensure a safe environment.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 3 years of industrial experience.
  • Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
  • Basic data entry and comfortable typing on a computer.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Team player, detail-oriented, takes initiative, vigilant of small quick repairs.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance and work orders.
  • Knowledge in electronics (troubleshooting and repair).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with conveyors, control panels, cooling fluid transfer pumps, or fiber optic censoring systems.
  • Experience with 480v.
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Experience in manufacturing equipment repair and troubleshooting.

Work Environment

This position is located in a manufacturing plant where candidates must be able to stand, walk, and use hands for up to 10-12 hours a day. Candidates must be able to lift or push up to 50 lbs and must be able to work weekends and holidays. PPE must be worn and the designated uniform must be adhered to. Available shifts include day shift (6am-6pm, Sun-Wed) and 3rd shift (6pm-6am, Wed-Sat) with a 15% shift differential for night shifts.
