Location: Abbottstown, PA
Pay Rate: Starting at $37/hour
Grade Levels: 7th-12th Grade
Schedule: 7:25 AM 2:55 PM, Full-Time (Contract: ASAP June 2025)

ProCare Therapy is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Special Education Teacher to take on a vital role in supporting middle and high school students with moderate to severe disabilities in a classroom setting. Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Tailored Instruction: Manage a classroom of 7th-12th grade students, delivering individualized lessons aligned with each students IEP to support their specific learning goals.
  • Personalize Learning: Adapt and modify the general curriculum to ensure accessibility for all students, keeping lessons engaging and interactive.
  • IEP Development & Management: Play a pivotal role in creating, implementing, and evaluating students IEPs, regularly updating plans to reflect progress and any needed adjustments.
  • Behavioral & Social Support: Utilize evidence-based strategies to manage classroom behavior and promote positive interactions, creating a supportive and inclusive learning atmosphere.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with paraprofessionals, general education teachers, and other support staff to ensure all students receive comprehensive educational and emotional support.
  • Track & Evaluate Progress: Continuously assess students performance, adjusting teaching methods to best meet their evolving needs.
  • Strong Parent Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with parents, keeping them informed of student progress and offering guidance on how to support their childs learning at home.
What You Bring to the Table:
  • Licensure: Must hold a valid Special Education Teacher License in Pennsylvania.
  • Experience: Previous experience in an MDS classroom or working with students with moderate to severe disabilities is highly desirable.
  • Commitment: A strong passion for helping students achieve their fullest potential.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adjust instructional approaches to meet diverse student needs and foster an inclusive learning environment.
