Responsibilities:

  • Proven litigation skills, excellent research and writing skills, and an ability to work on matters before all courts, including District, Superior, and U. S. District Courts.

  • Our Firm handles matters involving corporate and business litigation; real estate litigation; construction litigation, employment litigation and labor disputes; healthcare litigation; trust, estate, and probate litigation; insolvency litigation; and tort and insurance litigation.

  • Conducting legal research

  • Drafting legal documents, pleadings, and assisting with the discovery process

  • Conducting client consultations

  • Taking and defending depositions

  • Preparing for and attending court hearings

  • Preparing for and conducting trials.

  • Work Environment and Physical Demands: This position typically operates in a professional office environment, although remote work is permitted in certain circumstances.

  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. This is largely a sedentary role; however, standing, walking, reaching, lifting, and bending is routinely necessary to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Top academic credentials

  • 4+ years of civil litigation experience in Rhode Island.

  • Licensed to practice in RI (MA licensure, a plus)

  • 4+ years of civil litigation experience, preferably including trial work, pre- and post-trial motion practice, discovery, dispositive motions, and appellate work

  • Experience with alternative dispute resolution involving arbitration and/or mediation, a plus

  • Well-organized and detail oriented

  • Ability to manage multiple cases concurrently

  • Excellent written and oral advocacy skills

  • Superior analytical skills

  • Strong ethical standards

  • Collegial environment orientation.
