Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive speech and language services to students in a public school setting, helping them achieve their educational goals by addressing communication and language challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct assessments to identify students with speech and language disorders.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students requiring speech-language services.
  • Provide direct therapy to students, utilizing evidence-based practices.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to support student progress.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of comprehensive educational plans.
  • Provide training and support to school staff and parents on speech-language development and related concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Stay current with best practices and developments in the field of speech-language pathology.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Licensure:
    • Current Indiana Speech-Language Pathologist license issued by the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency.
    • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Certification:
    • Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) Communication Disorders licensure, allowing practice in public schools.
  • Experience:
    • Previous experience working in a school setting is preferred but not required.
    • Experience developing and implementing IEPs and conducting assessments in a school environment is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
    • Proficiency in conducting assessments and using therapy tools and technology.
    • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
Working Conditions:
  • The role requires travel between schools within the district.
  • The SLP will work in various settings, including classrooms, therapy rooms, and offices.
  • The position may involve handling challenging behaviors and working with students with diverse needs.
