Job Description: Speech-Language Pathologist

Location: Dracut, Massachusetts

Position: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Job Type: Full-Time

Overview: Dracut Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. The SLP will provide speech and language services to students, supporting their academic success and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to identify speech, language, and munication disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address the unique needs of each student.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students in individual and group settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student learning and development.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, progress notes, and treatment plans.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to the development of IEP goals.
  • Stay informed about current trends and best practices in speech-language pathology.
  • Provide training and support to teachers and staff on speech and language development.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Massachusetts state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Certification of Clinical petence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Certification from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for Speech-Language Pathologists.
  • Knowledge of IDEA and state and federal regulations governing special education.
  • Strong interpersonal and munication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Required Licensure and Certifications:

  • Massachusetts State License: Must hold and maintain a valid license to practice speech-language pathology in Massachusetts.
  • ASHA Certification: Certificate of Clinical petence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
  • Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Certification: Certification for Speech-Language Pathologists, meeting all state educational and examination requirements.
