Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sheet Metal Worker to join our team in Albion, Michigan. This is a part-time position that focuses solely on bending, cutting, shearing, and shaping various types of metal, with no installation work required. However, for candidates interested in a full-time role, there is an option to take on installation work as well. The ideal candidate will be proficient in metal fabrication and have a strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Metal Fabrication: Bend, cut, shear, and shape various types of metal, including aluminum, steel, copper, and others, using a range of hand and power tools.
• Machine Operation: Safely operate metal fabrication machinery, including brakes, shears, and rollers, to produce metal components as specified.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or specifications to determine material requirements and plan the fabrication process.
• Quality Control: Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and customer specifications.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
• Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Previous experience as a sheet metal worker, metal fabricator, or similar role.
• Skills:
  • Proficient in bending, cutting, and shearing various metals.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in fabrication.
  • Tools: Experience using hand tools, power tools, and metalworking machinery.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various positions, including standing, bending, and kneeling.
• Preferred:
  • Certification in metal fabrication or related field is a plus.
  • Experience working with a variety of metals, including aluminum, steel, and copper.
