Job DescriptionJob Description

We are seeking a Capital Accountant with a strong foundation in general ledger accounting and capital project management to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with various departments to manage and close corporate capital projects, ensure proper asset classification, and contribute to month-end close processes and reporting. This role requires excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both on-site and remote teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Asset and Project Management: Review and close out corporate IT, construction, and other capital projects, ensuring accurate asset classification and fixed asset entries.
  • Month-End Processes: Prepare and record journal entries related to Property, Plant & Equipment (PP&E) and conduct monthly account reconciliations with supporting documentation.
  • Audit & Tax Support: Assist in preparing schedules for audits and tax purposes by compiling necessary information from relevant departments, following internal controls and policies.
  • Annual Roll Forward Preparation: Create detailed roll forwards for each facility, tracking data and reconciling each transaction type and general ledger account.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Provide timely responses to inquiries, offer analysis at month-end, and work with the team to identify and implement process improvements for efficiency.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Experience: Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, including journal entry preparation and account reconciliations.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with fixed asset accounting is preferred.
  • Soft Skills: Effective communicator with a positive, team-oriented approach.
