Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Assembler to serve as a lead or assistant electrician on custom automation projects. This role is responsible for the electrical and controls segments of each project and requires a strong electrical aptitude and experience working from electrical schematics.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as lead or assistant electrician on custom automation projects.
  • Work from electrical schematics to complete electrical and controls segments of each project.
  • Read and interpret detail and assembly blueprints.
  • Read and understand the Bill of Materials to organize parts, sub-assemblies, tools, and materials needed to complete tasks.
  • Maintain multiple tasks in order.
  • Operate basic hand and power tools safely and accurately.
  • Maintain a safe and clean/organized working environment.
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks to achieve group goals.
  • Travel occasionally as needed.
Essential Skills
  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or 3-5 years minimum related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Experience in reading electrical schematics.
  • Ability to read and interpret detail and assembly blueprints.
  • Knowledge and ability to operate basic hand and power tools safely and accurately.
  • Ability to maintain a safe and clean/organized working environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Ability to assemble components by examining for correct fit and function using correct fasteners, machined and commercial details.
  • Ability to verify specifications of assemblies by measuring completed components to exact dimensions utilizing precision measurement tools.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Engineering thought process (understanding the actions and steps required to produce mechanical motion).
  • Previous machining or welding experience.

Work Environment

The work environment is climate-controlled and very comfortable. While the role is somewhat physical, but it is not overly demanding. The shift is from 5:30am to 2pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Granite City, Illinois.
