Medical Technologist (MT) for the Blood Bank (another opening in the Chemistry lab as well)

Pay Rate: $40-45/hr

Duration: 6 months Contract to hire – looking for long term employees

Start Date: ASAP

Addresses: Camden NJ 08103

Schedule: OVERNIGHT 11PM-7AM - 4x10s or 5x8s - every other weekend required

Interview Process: Virtual interview with the Blood Bank Manager and the Laboratory Clinical Director A second round meet and greet onsite with the team will follow a virtual interview.

Job Description:

One of Insight Global's large healthcare clients is looking for a Medical Technologist (MT) to join their team in Camden, NJ. The day-to-day responsibilities for this role include identifying blood types and antibodies, testing for viruses transmitted during transfusion, investigating harmful responses to the body or blood following transfusion, and supporting clinical staff with transfusion therapy. This individual will be supervising the collection, separation, delivery, and storage of all blood components. Additionally, The position is overnight working in the Blood Bank. This induvial will be trained on day shift and then moved to the overnight position. Days scheduled can be flexible and scheduling is determined on a bi-weekly basis.

Requirements:

- 1 year of blood bank specific experience

- Experience with Ortho analyzers (vision swift) using gel, solid face, or tube testing as the methodology

- Experience with workup

                - Special testing to listen for: titers and eluate.

- must be willing to learn, multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment

- must be reliable with strong communication skills

- comfortability with a high volume of trauma cases

Plusses: 

- Experience with Sunquest system (comparable to Cerner and Metatech)

- Experience with Epic Beaker

- A bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science (MLS)
