We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Collector II in the finance industry, based in Eagan, Minnesota. This role entails tracking and notifying customers of overdue accounts, and facilitating payment. The successful applicant will also be tasked with maintaining accurate customer records, processing payments, and working in accordance with the relevant regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Locate and monitor overdue accounts for timely collection

• Engage with customers via telephone or in person to understand reasons for overdue payments

• Review and negotiate terms of sales services or credit contracts with customers

• Encourage customers to settle amounts due on credit accounts, damage claims, or non-payable checks, or to return merchandise

• Develop debt repayment plans or establish repayment schedules based on customers' financial situations

• Ensure accurate and efficient processing of customer payments

• Maintain precise records of collections and customer accounts

• Utilize computer applications such as Microsoft Word and other related collections software for tasks

• Uphold knowledge and adherence to federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations related to collections

• Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.

• Demonstrated experience in customer service and sales
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and other relevant computer programs
• Familiarity with payment processing and check processing
• Experience in reviewing and understanding contracts
• Knowledge of collection processes and claim administration
• Proficiency in negotiation and written communication
• Ability to manage customer accounts and delinquencies
• Understanding of credit and overdraft procedures
• Familiarity with company policies and regulations
• Experience as a collector is advantageous
• Knowledge of merchandising and 'About Time' software is a plus
• Ability to perform ad hoc financial tasks and repayment processes
