Join Us as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) in Somerville, MA

We are looking for a passionate Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our team in Somerville, Massachusetts. If you're committed to making a difference in the lives of students with visual impairments, this is the perfect opportunity for you

Position Details:

  • Position: Part-Time (0.3 - 0.4 FTE)
  • Hours per Week: 11.25 - 15 hours
  • Details: District-wide assignments supporting students with visual impairments.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students' needs.
  • Collaborate with other educators and families to ensure academic success and accessibility.
  • Assist in the use of adaptive technologies and materials to support learning.

Qualifications:

  • Massachusetts Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) License required
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field
  • Experience with students who have visual impairments is a plus, but not required

Position Details:

  • Classroom: District-wide
  • Hours per Week: 11.25 - 15 hours
  • Weekly Pay: Competitive
  • Benefits: Comprehensive package including Dental, Medical, Vision, and 401K
  • Contract Duration: Current school year, with the potential to extend for summer school and the 2024-2025 school year
