We are looking for a passionate Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our team in Somerville, Massachusetts. If you're committed to making a difference in the lives of students with visual impairments, this is the perfect opportunity for you
Position Details:
- Position: Part-Time (0.3 - 0.4 FTE)
- Hours per Week: 11.25 - 15 hours
- Details: District-wide assignments supporting students with visual impairments.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students' needs.
- Collaborate with other educators and families to ensure academic success and accessibility.
- Assist in the use of adaptive technologies and materials to support learning.
Qualifications:
- Massachusetts Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) License required
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field
- Experience with students who have visual impairments is a plus, but not required
Position Details:
- Classroom: District-wide
- Hours per Week: 11.25 - 15 hours
- Weekly Pay: Competitive
- Benefits: Comprehensive package including Dental, Medical, Vision, and 401K
- Contract Duration: Current school year, with the potential to extend for summer school and the 2024-2025 school year
