We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Food Safety & Quality Manager to join our dynamic team in the Food Manufacturing industry. This is a permanent position that requires an individual with a strong background in food safety and quality management systems. The successful candidate will oversee the implementation and adherence to food safety regulations, quality assurance procedures, and sanitation practices to ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about food safety and quality, has a keen eye for detail, and is committed to upholding the highest standards of food production.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company's Food Safety and Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with FDA regulations and GFSI guidelines.
- Oversee and manage the Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure a clean and sanitary environment.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines and allergen control programs.
- Lead and manage the Quality Assurance (QA) team to ensure all products meet the required standards of quality and safety.
- Develop and deliver training programs for staff on food safety, sanitation, allergen control, and quality assurance procedures.
- Investigate and resolve any issues related to food safety, quality, or sanitation.
- Liaise with external food safety inspectors and auditors and ensure all necessary documentation is prepared and available for inspections and audits.
- Continually review and improve food safety and quality processes and procedures to ensure the highest standards are maintained.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a food safety and quality management role in the manufacturing industry.
- Experience liaising with USDA inspectors
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, including SSOP, HACCP, GFSI, FDA, allergen control, and GMP.
- Proven experience as a food safety inspector or auditor.
- Excellent understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of food safety and quality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
