Grade Level/Caseload: Grades 6-8
Model: Full Service Model (Primarily Assessment Focus)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) to join our team for the remainder of the current school year. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity to work with middle school students (Grades 6-8) in a supportive, collaborative educational environment.
While the position follows a full-service model for LSSPs, it will have a strong emphasis on assessment duties, rather than counseling. The ideal candidate will be proficient in conducting psychoeducational assessments, providing remendations for student interventions, and supporting the overall mental health and academic success of students.
Qualifications:
- Valid Texas LSSP certification (Licensed Specialist in School Psychology).
- Experience working with middle school-aged students (grades 6-8) is preferred.
- Strong background in psychoeducational assessments and data interpretation.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff, parents, and munity stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal munication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychoeducational assessments and evaluations for students in grades 6-8, including eligibility determinations for special education services.
- Provide consultation and collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student development.
- Use data to inform and guide intervention strategies and programming for students in need of academic, behavioral, and emotional support.
- Develop and implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and provide professional guidance for staff in the implementation of these plans.
- Assist in crisis intervention, as needed, and provide remendations for supporting students in challenging situations.
- Participate in meetings related to special education, Section 504, and MTSS (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support).
