Salary: $120,000 - $140,000 per year

Overview:

Are you an experienced project manager with a passion for custom fabrication and heavy equipment? We are seeking a dynamic Operations Manager to lead our client’s custom fabrication shop, specializing in hydraulic lifting equipment, precision machining, and equipment frame fabrication. This role is perfect for a strong leader who combines technical expertise with a commitment to Health, Safety, & Environmental (HSE) standards.

In this pivotal position, you will not only oversee daily operations but also drive innovation and efficiency within the shop. Key Responsibilities:

Lead and Inspire: Set clear objectives and foster a high-performing team through consistent communication and feedback.

Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation tailored to custom fabrication projects.

Budget Management: Oversee project budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure financial targets are met while delivering quality results.

Contract Oversight: Manage negotiations and relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors, ensuring compliance with all terms.

Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary contact for stakeholders, ensuring effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks to minimize disruptions and maintain project momentum.

Documentation: Maintain thorough project documentation, including plans, reports, and meeting records.

Innovative Solutions: Lead design and engineering teams to create cutting-edge heavy equipment solutions that meet safety standards and client specifications.

Quality Assurance: Ensure all project deliverables meet established quality standards and specifications.

Performance Monitoring: Analyze project progress and performance metrics, providing regular updates to stakeholders.

Policy Compliance: Ensure adherence to organizational policies, industry regulations, and best practices.

Conflict Resolution: Address on-site issues, conflicts, or delays that may impact project timelines or quality.

Project Handover: Facilitate project completion, conduct final inspections, and compile lessons learned for future initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within heavy equipment design, engineering, or custom fabrication.

Proven track record of managing large-scale design projects from concept to completion.

Strong knowledge of engineering principles, CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks), and product development cycles.

Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations in heavy equipment manufacturing.

Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to effectively manage budgets, timelines, and multiple priorities.

Proactive problem-solving skills and a forward-thinking approach to project challenges.

PMP certification or equivalent project management experience is preferred.

Work Environment:

Office setting for project planning and design coordination.

Occasional travel to manufacturing sites, client locations, or testing facilities.

Interaction with suppliers, contractors, and regulatory bodies as needed.
