Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Auditor in BALTIMORE, Maryland. This role falls within the auditing sector and requires a highly organized individual to perform complex auditing work with minimal supervision. The work location is an office environment, and the role requires minimal physical effort.
Responsibilities:
• Assign, review, and approve the work of auditing and office support personnel. • Maintain effective working relationships with work associates and agency representatives. • Compile comprehensive audit reports based on the auditing work performed. • Utilize knowledge of the principles and practices of accounting and auditing, specifically governmental accounting. • Conduct annual internal audits and risk-based internal auditing. • Resolve complex issues that arise during the auditing process. • Possess the ability to speak and write effectively. • Monitor the actions of auditors and provide necessary guidance. • Conduct government audits and maintain a high level of accuracy and efficiency. • Maintain accurate audit records and ensure all processes adhere to municipal accounting standards.• Must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in auditing roles, preferably at a senior level
• Proficiency in performing Government Audits and Annual Internal Audits
• In-depth knowledge of Governmental Accounting practices
• Familiarity with Risk based internal auditing techniques
• Hands-on experience in conducting Internal Audits
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficient in using auditing software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
• detail oriented certification such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred
• High ethical standards and professionalism, with a commitment to confidentiality.
