POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

The Insurance Collector I is responsible for performing follow-up on outstanding patient accounts which includes reviewing payer websites and performing phone calls to establish payment or denial timelines. The insurance collector will review their assigned Epic account workqueues and process correspondence requests by payers and third-party associates. Responsible for reviewing accounts to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement. Identify payer issues affecting payment delays. The Insurance Collector must understand payer contracts and fee schedules.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High School graduate or equivalent is required. Strong attention to detail, capacity to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Must possess strong interpersonal and communications skills.
