School Based Occupational Therapist: Tower Lakes, IL

Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and empathetic Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team near Tower Lakes, IL. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to helping individuals of all ages achieve their maximum potential in daily living and work skills. You will provide comprehensive assessments, develop personalized treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based therapy interventions to improve clients' functional abilities and overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed assessments of clients' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities, as well as their ability to perform daily activities.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address clients' specific needs and goals.
- Provide direct therapeutic interventions to improve clients' motor skills, sensory processing, cognitive function, and adaptive abilities.
- Collaborate with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and effective care.
- Educate clients and their families on adaptive techniques, equipment, and strategies to enhance daily functioning and independence.
- Document and track client progress, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Adjust treatment plans as necessary based on client progress and changing needs.
- Participate in case reviews, team meetings, and ongoing professional development activities.
- Advocate for clients needs and support their involvement in community and recreational activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid Illinois state licensure as an Occupational Therapist (or eligibility to obtain licensure).
- Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) preferred.
- Prior experience in a clinical, school, or rehabilitation setting is advantageous.
- Strong clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, and intervention.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and other relevant technology.
