Job Title: Tennessee Work From HomeK-12 Teacher of the Visually Impaired

Location: Fully Remote (Tennessee)

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teacher of the Visually Impaired to join our team for the 2025 spring semester. This is a fully remote position, providing educational support and services to K-12 students with visual impairments across Tennessee

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments, in collaboration with educators, parents, and support staff.
  • Provide direct instruction and support in areas such as Braille literacy, orientation and mobility, adaptive technology, and daily living skills.
  • Adapt instructional materials and resources to meet the unique needs and learning styles of students with visual impairments.
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate students' academic progress and functional abilities, and make recommendations for accommodations and modifications as needed.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and related service providers to ensure a cohesive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Provide training and support to educational teams and families on strategies for supporting students with visual impairments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education of the Visually Impaired or related field.
  • Valid teaching certification in North Dakotawith a specialization in Visual Impairment.
  • Previous experience working as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired in K-12 settings.
  • Knowledge of Braille literacy, adaptive technology, and other specialized instructional techniques for students with visual impairments.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment.
  • Commitment to fostering inclusivity and equity in education.
