Job Description

We are looking for a skilled painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for cleaning and preparing surfaces for painting, preparing paint for application, and operating hand-held spray guns and portable powder coat equipment. You will apply primer and other coatings according to paint specifications and blueprints. Additionally, you must be able to disassemble and re-assemble paint equipment for cleaning.

Responsibilities
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for painting.
  • Prepare paint for application.
  • Operate hand-held spray guns to apply various types of paint.
  • Operate portable powder coat equipment.
  • Apply primer and other coatings per paint specifications and blueprints.
  • Disassemble and re-assemble paint equipment for cleaning.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in industrial painting.
  • Proficient in operating hand-held spray guns and paint booth equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and paint specifications.
  • Knowledge of metal preparation, sanding, and polishing.
  • Experience with primer application.
  • Ability to assemble and disassemble paint equipment for cleaning.
  • Understanding of OSHA guidelines and proper use of protective equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Two (2) years of experience as an industrial painter preferred.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. with frequent bending, stooping, twisting, and climbing of ladders.
  • Knowledge of different painting methods preferred.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bay City, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.
