Job Description

The Automotive Paint Technician is responsible for preparing and painting vehicles to ensure a high-quality finish. This role involves surface preparation, color matching, and applying paint using various techniques and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Match paint colors to achieve the desired finish.
• Apply paint using spray guns and other painting equipment.
• Perform quality control checks to ensure a flawless finish.
• Maintain and clean painting equipment and work area.
• Follow safety protocols and handle hazardous materials properly.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines.
• Keep detailed records of work performed and materials used.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of experience in automotive painting or a related field.
• Proficiency in using spray guns and other painting equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Knowledge of color matching and mixing techniques.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Computer data entry skills.

Work Environment

Safety First: Kia Georgia prioritizes the safety of its team members and visitors, with comprehensive safety protocols and training. Duties are performed indoors in the Kia plant. The environment is fast-paced with constant interruptions and inflexible deadlines. The Kia West Point assembly plant in Georgia is quite large, covering 2,200 acres, representing a significant investment of $2.8 billion, and has an annual production capacity of over 350,000 vehicles. The plant operates 24 hours a day, across three shifts: 2nd shift from 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM, and 3rd shift from 10:30 PM to 6:30 AM.

The pay range for this position is $21.83 - $21.83
