My client's personal injury law firm, located in picturesque Gloucester County on the Chesapeake Bay, is looking for an experienced Personal Injury Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join their dedicated team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Document Preparation & Management: Draft, review, and track legal documents and correspondence.
  • Client & Court Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients, courts, and other parties.
  • File Maintenance: Organize and maintain both electronic and physical case files.
  • Intake Support: Conduct initial intake interviews with new clients.
  • Office Operations: Manage a multi-line phone system and provide administrative support.
  • Attorney Assistance: Collaborate with two attorneys and other team members to ensure efficient case handling.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
  • Minimum of 3 years of office administration experience (preferred).
  • Strong preference for candidates with personal injury law experience in Virginia.
  • Candidates with civil litigation experience or family law will also be considered.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with legal case management systems.
  • Skilled in operating office equipment such as copiers, scanners, and multi-line phone systems.
  • Professional demeanor with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, able to multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
  • Independent, team-oriented, and trustworthy with a strong sense of confidentiality and financial responsibility.
  • 2-3 years of personal injury law experience in Virginia is strongly preferred.
