Chipton-Ross is seeking 16 Assembler B's for a contract opportunity in Sylmar, CA.

*This position 100% ONSITE.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs complex production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, equipment and accessories using manual or automated assembly tools.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs the processes necessary for the fabrication and production of Solar Cells, including Photolithography, Cap Etch/Window Clean, Thinning, Lift-Off, Evaporation, Sinter, Saw-Dice, Lot Code, electrical testing, microscope inspection and Silicon Diodes.
Performs the processes necessary for growth of semiconductors, including operation of MOCVD vacuum system, Metal Organic material handling and X-Ray Diffraction.
Performs a variety of technical manufacturing production assembly operations where accurate visual acuity and manual dexterity are required to fabricate production solar cell assemblies and solar panels for space applications.
Perform hand soldering, wire harness assembly and component bonding.
Complete documentation accurately.
Operates tools and equipment such as wire strippers, crimpers, solder iron, wire identification and associated tools.
Adheres to established company policies and procedures, paying special attention to safety regulations.
Demonstrated experience using a computer to look up and record information (Excel & Word).
This position requires the ability to work first or second shift.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
Reliable, mechanically inclined, detail orientated.
Ability to work in a team atmosphere and displays a positive attitude.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Work overtime as required.
Must wear a smock, hair cover, and gloves during work.
Requires accurate visual acuity.
Microsoft Excel, Word and Power point experience.
Inspection Under Microscope experience.
Assembly of small parts.
Weld / Soldering experience.
Sit or stand for more than 8 hours a day.

HARD REQUIREMENTS:
If hired, successful completion of training is a contingency for this assignment.

REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent or military/ work experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
Minimum of 6 months of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment
Ability to lift 20lbs

DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience using SAP.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- J-STD Soldering
- Wire gauge understanding
- Stripping wire
- Splicing wire
- Schematic/Drawing reading

EDUCATION:
Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g., High School diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., vocational school/Associate). Education must be accredited.

WORK HOURS: MUST BE OPEN TO WORKING 1st, 2nd or 3rd SHIFT.
PER CLIENT: Candidates who do not have the flexibility to work all shifts or variable shifts should not apply for this opportunity.
This operation works on a 9/80 schedule.
