Job Overview:The Warehouse Forklift Operator is responsible for managing the storage, organization, and transportation of raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods within the warehouse. This includes safely driving and operating forklifts, handling shipments, loading and unloading trucks, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The operator follows safety protocols, inventory procedures, and ensures compliance with shipping regulations, including DOT, DHS, TSCA, and CT-PAT. They also participate in various safety and health initiatives to support a safe and productive workplace.
Responsibilities:
Pull finished goods from storage areas• Put away raw materials in storage areas• Safely drive and operate a forklift• Load and unload trucks as needed• Understand and follow pick lists and BOL’s• Operates pumps for off-loading tankers• Perform set-up and clean up for tasks• Actively participates in safety programs, 5S, and perform daily checklists• Follows operating procedures for proper inventory, handling, and staging ofmaterial.• Activities such as verification of incoming & outgoing shipments,identification & disposition of returned material, damaged material, or obsoletematerial• Maintain safe and clean work area through use of personal protective equipment(PPE) and disciplined daily work ethic• Consolidation and organization of the warehouses and outside storage areas• Participates and contributes to Health & Safety, Security, and Environmentalactivities (SAFE meetings, BBS observer, HS&E training, housekeeping, & 5S)• Follows shipping regulatory requirements such as DOT, DHS, TSCA, and CT-PATMaintain storage of raw materials, intermediates and finished goods whileobtaining materials needed for batch makers, adjusters, tinters and fill off asneeded by production while following all safety guidelines and procedures
Requirement High school graduate or equivalent and at least 18 years of age.• Forklift certified• Prior warehouse or logistics experience preferred• Excellent reading and comprehension skills• Good math skills• Good communication skills• Must be safety conscious• Ability to follow directions• Propensity to use good judgment in making independent decisions• Self-motivated with high standards for performance• Ability to work with various types of personalities• Must have a positive attitude and be adaptable to the changing needs of theCompany
