Location: Tucson, Arizona
Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in Tucson, Arizona. The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for providing specialized instruction to students with disabilities, collaborating with general education teachers and support staff to meet students' individual needs, and ensuring compliance with all state and federal special education regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, in collaboration with parents, general education teachers, and other professionals.
- Provide specialized instruction in core academic subjects, life skills, and social-emotional development, adapting teaching methods and materials to meet students' unique needs.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction and supports as needed to ensure student success.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curriculum and provide accommodations and modifications for students with disabilities in inclusive settings.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, IEPs, and other required documentation.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and collaborate on strategies for supporting learning at home.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field from an accredited institution.
- Arizona state certification in Special Education.
- Highly Qualified status as defined by the Arizona Department of Education.
- Experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
- Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
