We are seeking a Registered Nurse for our Samaritan Clinics in Moses Lake, Washington. As a Clinic RN, you will work within your scope of practice under the direction and supervision of the Medical Doctor and be responsible for assisting with the provision of care and implementing delegated activities for the delivery of care. An understanding of contemporary nursing principles and skills must be demonstrated, unique to their clinical assignment. This position reports to the Clinic Director of Operations and works closely with all Samaritan Clinic Departments and staff to coordinate and deliver quality care and excellent patient services.

This is a part-time position, various hours per week position, Monday - Friday, availability between the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm.

EXTRA INCENTIVE:

Up to 7,500 sign on bonus, subject to two-year Hospital Sign on Advance Agreement. (External candidates only.)

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES (not limited to):

  1. Assists with patient education, i.e. diabetes, AIDS, immunizations, etc.
  2. Assists the Physician with procedures, treatments and medications.
  3. Carries out orders as approved by the supervising physicians.
  4. Documents patient care and reports as required.
  5. Assists Physician by preparing the patients and equipment for examinations and procedures; and assists in the implementation of selected activities of care.
  6. Ensures proper inventorying and ordering of medical supplies, maintenance of emergency equipment and proper medication orders and refills.
  7. Triages patients to the level of care necessary to provide quality patient care with the best possible results.
  8. Assesses surgical and acute wounds to assist the Physician with treatment.
  9. Understands surgical inpatients procedures and care.
  10. Understands and has knowledge of diagnoses, billing, and procedures.
  11. Acts as a resource for patient care and ensure that patients are scheduled with the provider that is best suited to meet their healthcare needs.
  12. Performs cervical exams.
  13. Starts and monitors IVs as directed.
  14. Provides additional patient monitoring and obtains lab testing as directed.
  15. Assists the Provider in facilitating direct admission to hospital Labor & Delivery Department as appropriate.
  16. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
  17. Ensures no injuries to self or others by following safe work practices and policies. This includes, but is not limited to: security and safety, understanding of MSDS, equipment, infection control, fire, disaster, safe lifting and body mechanics.
  18. Ensures self-compliance with organization policies and procedures as well as labor agreements.
  19. Ensures the interface with team members and other support groups is conducted in a courteous and efficient manner conducive with the organization’s values.
  20. Conducts self in a professional manner and ensures personal appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job function while representing the organization.
  21. Ensures that additional accountabilities, as may be required by management, be handled in a manner necessary to meet organizational standards.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (not limited to):

  1. Current Washington State Registered Nurse license.
  2. Current (Healthcare Provider [HCP] level) CPR certification.
  3. 2-3 years’ specialized experience in either Labor & Delivery or Women’s Health/OB required.
  4. Knowledge of Labor & Delivery inpatient procedures and care.
  5. Understands the proper application and how to perform fetal monitoring (NST) as directed.
  6. AWHONN’s Advanced Fetal Monitoring course is required to be obtained within 6 months and renewed every 2 years.
  7. Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Occasional prolonged standing/walking. Occasional lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling.
  2. Extremely heavy physical effort, lift/carry up to 50+ lbs.
  3. Intermittent exertion when performing treatments.
  4. Good reading eyesight; full visual acuity, depth perception, and color perception.
  5. Ability to communicate using verbal and/or written skills for accurate exchange of information with physicians, nurses, health care professionals, patients and/or family, and the public.
