PURPOSE OF JOB:

To maintain all aspects of a Tufting machine for 1 hour every day during breaks.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Monitor carpet quality.

  • Change backing.

  • Make out roll tickets.

  • Doff rolls.

  • Ability to mend both punch needle and mending gun.

  • Give Breaks to Tufting Operator.

  • Hang creel to tuft.

  • Receive yarn to creel. (Make sure all tickets are accounted for and yarn color and lots match work order).

  • Hang yarn on either creel.

  • Bending, stooping, reaching overhead is required.

  • Must have a good safety record.

  • Must keep work area clean at all times.

  • Able to work unsupervised and be self motivated and work well with others.

  • Other duties as instructed by supervisor.

  • Housekeeping of area.

NEEDED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to read yarn labels

  • Ability to follow instructions on warp orders

  • Ability to hang 306 to 612 cones of yarn and remove 306 to 612 cones of yarn on creels in a 12-hour shift.

  • Keep records on daily report

  • Ability to bend, pull, and lift

  • Ability to read, write, and do basic math and use air splicer

  • Ability to run knots through on through Tufting machine

  • Ability to understand graphic patterns

  • The Creeler/Operator will be given preference for future Operator openings. Shift preference is given within the job only.
