Location: Charleston, SC Area (Windwood, SC)
Contract Duration: January 6 - May 30 (2024-2025 School Year)
Full Time: 37.5 hours per week
Pay Range: $32 - $38 per hour

About the Position:
Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated and skilled Educational Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to join our team in the Charleston, SC area for the 2024-2025 school year. This full-time, onsite position offers petitive pay and benefits. The interpreter will be responsible for facilitating munication between deaf and hard-of-hearing students and their peers or instructors, ensuring a fully accessible learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate sign language interpretation for students in K-12 educational settings
- Interpret lessons, discussions, and instructions for students with hearing impairments
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to support the students educational needs
- Maintain confidentiality of students and their educational records
- Attend IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings when necessary
- Support students in extracurricular activities as needed
- Ensure pliance with relevant state and federal laws, including ADA and IDEA regulations
Requirements:
- EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.5 or higher
- Valid certification as an Educational Sign Language Interpreter
- Prior experience in educational settings is preferred
- Strong munication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Must pass a background check
